Col de la Ramaz from Taninges in the Haute Savoie
Col de la Ramaz is situated in the Chablais and links the town of Morzine to the east with the village of Mieussy to the south-west.
Leaving the northern outskirts of the town of Taninges the road climbs steadily NE along the flanks of the valley for about 5km. The road then climbs steeply through the forest, alternating long straights with tight hairpins for what seems an eternity, before levelling out through to the small ski resort of Le Praz de Lys; a further steep kilometre delivers you to the col and some spectacular views.
The col has only been crossed by the Tour de France three times in its history, with the 2016 Tour de France bringing the tally to four on the same stage featuring the 2016 Etape du Tour between Megève and Morzine.
