Col des Saisies from La Pierre/Beaufort in the Savoie
Col des Saisies lies to the south-west of the popular ski resort of Megève, and links Flumet in the Arly valley to the north with La Pierre/Beaufort in the Doron valley to the south.
The climb starts immediately after you turn off from the D925 4km outside Beaufort. The climb is steady, winding its way up from the valley floor through forest. After the village of Praz, the road continues to snake up, offering magnificent views over Mont Blanc.
Continuing up through beautiful alpine pastures, you eventually arrive at the rather non-descript ski station of Les Saisies.
The Tour de France has crossed the col on 11 occasions, with the 2016 Tour de France making it 12.
