Hôtel des Alpes – In an ideal holiday village

We have a choice of two hotels that we use in the Southern Alps, depending on the group and proposed itinerary. Our alternative option for Bike Weekender Southern Alps trips is in Bourg-d’Oisans, at the Hôtel des Alpes, conveniently located at the heart of 6 valleys in an attractive village setting.

The Hôtel des Alpes is also very cycling-centric in the summer months, helping you to make the most of this area with its’ Tour de France cols and scenery, especially the 21 iconic switchbacks of Alpes d’Huez, as well as the Col du Galibier.

It is well-equipped for cyclists, offering bike storage, as well as a sauna and jacuzzi for after those long rides. Then relax on their shaded terrace with a cold drink, watching life in the village go by.

It is a family run hotel, and the owners pride themselves on offering guests a warm and comfortable stay.

Please note that, depending on availability, on some trips we may use other accommodation in the area. All of these locations are chosen for their friendly welcome and service, and their charming character as well as a convenient location.

Central Base for the Southern Alps

Hôtel Des Alpes – Rooms

All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with a private toilet, and overlook either the pedestrian street or the village square. There are double/twin bedrooms, as well as larger rooms that can host up to 4 people. Rooms are fully decorated, spacious and offer good, simple comfort with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

There is a flat-screen TV in every room, and there is a convenient lift to all floors. WiFi is available on the ground floor.

Hôtel Des Alpes – Social Facilities

In addition to the restaurant, there is a shady terrace in the village square, where you can watch the world go by.

There is also a sauna and jacuzzi in the hotel’s well-being area, which could be a popular meeting place to relax and unwind after a long day in the mountains.

Hôtel Des Alpes – Food

They offer family style cooking based on Alpine specialities and quality local produce, such as fondues, raclettes and a variety of salads.

For cyclists they also serve tasty pasta dishes, with plenty of slow-release energy helping you to reach the magnificent peaks the next day!

Breakfasts are generous, with a large, self-service buffet and fresh orange juice.

The hotel is located in the heart of the village of Bourg-d’Oisans, in one of the oldest properties in the village. It is conveniently located in the centre of 6 valleys, with stunning rides in all directions.
